Indians traveling to Dominican Republic for tourism and visitation purposes are required to apply for a tourist visa. The tourist visa might come in form of a tourist card. The tourist  card is valid for 30 days. Currency restriction for exit out of Dominican Republic is 10,000 USD. Foreigners who overstay their visa will be charged an extended stay fee at the airport–proportional to length of time; RD$2,500 for three additional months. This is paid upon departure at the immigration desk, after check-in and past security. If you wish to stay longer, you do not need to formally extend – instead you'll be charged RD$1000 when you depart the country for any stay up to 90 days. Visitors can bring up to 200 cigarettes, 2Litres of alcohol and 1 box of cigars. It’s best to carry a prescription for any medication, especially psychotropic drugs. It is illegal to take anything out of the Dominican Republic that is over 100 years old – paintings, household items, prehistoric artifacts etc – without special export certificates.  Minors under the age of 18 are required to present official proof of parental consent to travel. Proof of yellow fever vaccination must be provided. Travelers going to Dominican Republic for visitation purposes are required to provide an invitation letter. Indians traveling to Dominican Republic for business visa should apply for a Dominican Republic business visa. This visa is valid for 30 days but can be extended. Applicants are required to provide a contract or work letter from the Dominican company they are visiting. Birth certificate of the applicant (apostilled from the Foreign Office) is required. University Degree and CV of the applicant is required. Certificate of Labour from the Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic, containing the Resolution No. 135  is required. This document must be supplied by the Dominican company the applicant is visiting. Certificate of good conduct (apostilled from the Foreign Office) must be provided. Letter of Guarantee from the Dominican company, legalized by the Attorney General (Procuraduría) is required. Applicants are required to provide a letter from the doctor stating that they are in good health. Most recent bank statement of the bank account of the person funding the journey is required.
