  • A duly completed visa application form.
  • An original passport with two blank pages for visa stamps.
  • Two 30 mm x 40 mm passport-sized photographs.
  • A bank statement not older than 3 months showing a sufficient flow of funds for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Accommodation proof via hotel reservation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Romania or a host's residential address.

When can I apply for Romanian visa ?

It is recommended that applicants apply for their short-stay visas one month before the travel date and for their long-stay visas two months before the travel date. Please note that visa applications would not be accepted earlier than 90 days before the travel date.

How much financial support should I have while in Romania ?

Those on a short-stay visa are expected to have a minimum of 50 euros per day but not less than 500 euros per 10 days. For those on long-stay visas, they should have proof of possessing the minimum gross wage in Romania and this should be for the entire validity of the visa.

In what time-frame can my police report be issued ?

Applicants are expected to have their police report issued to them within 6 months to their travel date. Certificates issued after 6 months are regarded invalid.

The Transit Visa for Romania allows third-country nationals to transit the territory of Romania. This visa is marked as the Type- B visa. The Type B visa can be issued for one, two or multiple transits and is valid for 5 days. Note that each transit must not exceed a period of 5 days. Applicants are to submit a copy of their visa for the state of destination. This would allow them to continue their onward journey.  An onward airplane ticket valid for the destination is also required. Other supporting documents to submit would be the applicant's driving license, the registration documents of the vehicle, documents bearing the state of destination, the states to be transited and purpose for transit.
