The Slovenian tourist visa can be issued to Indians traveling to Slovenia for tourism and visitation purposes. Slovenia is a Schengen country, Indians can apply for a Schengen visa. This visa is valid for 90 days in a period of 180 days. Currency restriction for entry into and exit out of Slovenia is 10,000 Euros. A copy of your return-ticket reservation is required. A medical travel insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within Slovenia and the entire Schengen area must be provided. Applicants are required to provide a cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Slovenia. A letter of invitation must be provided by the applicant. A flight itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Slovenia is required. Hotel accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Slovenia should be provided. Proof of civil status (i.e marriage certificate or birth certificate of children) should be provided. Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Slovenia is required. This should come as a form of bank statements. Retired persons should possess a pension statement or documents showing other financial support from the last 6 months. Visitors staying longer than three days must register with the police within 72 hours of arrival. Hotels and apartments or houses rented through a company will register you. Indians traveling to Slovenia for business purposes are required to apply for the Slovenian business visa. A signed letter of invitation from the company in Slovenia which contains the applicant’s data, the purpose of the visit, the period of intended stay and contact details of the company must be provided. A signed letter of invitation from your current employer with your personal data, the term of employment, and purpose of visit is also required. Travelers looking to stay longer than 90 days within a 180-day period must apply for a temporary residency prior to entering Slovenia. Travelers must register with the police within three days of arrival. Failure to do so will result into a fine. Travelers who intend to attend conferences which require prior business registration should ensure they have proof of registration and the receipt for the registration fee. If you have been in prior business dealings with the company, a proof of this is required. Certificate of business registration of the company in Slovenia should be provided.

Indians looking to work in Slovenia are required to apply for the Slovenian work visa. The company looking to employ a foreign citizen has to meet one of the following conditions in order to apply for work permit for the foreign citizen: Have at least 1 person employed in the company in the last 6 months before applying for the permit. Have at least 10.000 euro of turnover every month in the last 6 months before applying for the permit. Applicants who have at least university degree can obtain a work permit without meeting the upper mentioned conditions. Applicants can apply for a residence permit, this is after their work permit has been approved. The residence permit can be extended if you meet the following conditions: Proof of work (received salaries) and official forms must be provided. A valid passport must be provided. Proof of health travel insurance must be provided. Evidence of conditions fulfilled must be attached. Proof of health insurance in Slovenia is required from the applicant. You might be invited for an interview.

Indians looking to study in one of the institutions in Slovenia must apply for the Slovenian student visa. This visa is also known as a Type D visa. There are two types of Slovenia student visa: Short-stay visa- this visa is valid for just 90 days. Long-stay visa- this visa is valid for 12 months, and it is also extendable.
