A Canadian athlete and animal lover named Jean Marc Dansereau 1946-2016, fell in love with India in the mid ’60s and returned.
He married Padma in 1985 and had two kids. In 1993 he bought a piece of land in Pushkar, where he established Shannu’s Ranch Inn, Shannu being the nickname of his son, Vayu, who now runs the ranch.
He had another child while reflecting his eternal love for horses in establishing a school for horse-back riding, which allowed him to build unique rooms for animal lovers.
