This visa is issued to those who plan to study at a Korean university. Applicants are expected to have applied for a Certificate of Admission from a Korean university.  The South Korean student visa is referred to as a D-visa. Korea offers two visas for the purpose of studying. There is the D-2 and the D-4 visas. Both are same in terms of purpose, but differ in the scope of duration of stay. With the D-2 visa, a foreigner can apply for a four-year course or field of study in a University in Korea. The D-4 visa is granted to foreign individuals for carrying out a training course in Korea. The duration of this visa is approximately 6 months but can be extended according to the capability of the student to go further in training. A certificate of recent scholarly achievement (if any) is required. A certificate of bank balance is to be submitted. Applicants need to pay for at least 2 terms of 10 weeks each for an academic year to get the certificate issued and sent of them by the University. On a student visa, you can apply for the right to work part-time after you have studied in Korea for six months. The school of admission will give more information on the dictates of  part-time work system. Other requirements needed for each visa may be requested for by the institution the Indian has applied to or the Korean embassy. Student visas are issued for the time period you will be studying in South Korea. You must have the visa by the time your semester in South Korea begins.

Indians looking to study in Portugal should apply for the Portuguese student visa. There are two types of Portuguese student visa: Schengen short-stay visa: this visa is for students studying for less than 90 days Long-stay visa: this visa is for students studying for more than 90 days. Higher education area adopted a system based on three cycles of study, at bachelor, master and doctorate's level, that is: 1st cycle of study lasting three or four years to attain a bachelor's degree, in Portugal called a licenciatura. 2nd cycle of study lasting one or two years to attain a master's degree, in Portugal called a mestrado. 3rd cycle of study lasting three years to attain a doctorate, in Portugal called adoutoramento. Confirmed accommodation from the inviting institution if on campus or confirmed hotel reservations, stating name, address and telephone number of the hotel, including confirmation number must be provided. A No Criminal Record Certificate must be provided by the applicant. Copy of travel itinerary with acceptance letter or confirmed reservation is required. Applicants are required to provide a valid travel ticket or other proof of departure arrangements. Proof of sufficient financial means to support themselves throughout the stay should be provided. Proof of health insurance coverage of minimum of 30,000 euros must be provided.

The Student Visa is issued to foreigners who have been offered admission to study in an academic institution in Sweden. The original letter of admission from the institution that the applicant has been accepted should be presented during the visa application. You are required to be in possession of the receipt of the tuition fee paid to the institution in Sweden. An original guarantee letter explaining the details of the applicant’s financial situation is required. Minors applying for this visa should ensure they are in possession of the original and two extra copies of their birth certificate. You are required to present two copies of your curriculum vitae during the visa application. Applicants of this visa are required to present original certificates they obtain from the schools they attended previously. If you will be accompanied by your family member you can apply on their behalf in your own application. Proof of payment of the visa fee is required. The documents to be submitted should be in English or Swedish.

Foreigners who want to pursue an educational course in Italy for more than 90 days will have to obtain a student visa. The Italy student visa is a long-term visa granted to students who have already been accepted for admission by a recognized higher educational institute in Italy. Student visas in Italy are issued by Italian Embassies and consular posts in a student's country of origin or permanent residence.  All non-EU students are required to obtain a student visa prior to entering Italy. There are two types of student visas in Italy, depending on the duration of the study program. Visa type C is the short-stay visa or travel visa valid for one or more entries and for a period not exceeding 90 days. Intending students issued the type-C visa would have their purpose of visit clearly stated on the visa for differentiation. Visa type D is a long-stay visa valid for more than 90 days. The purpose of the visit would also be clearly stated. Applicants are always advised to start these procedures well in advance of the intended date of entry as the visa processing time can be lengthy. The procedures for student visas in Italy are subject to change so it is worthwhile to contact the Italian Embassy for information to confirm current visa requirements. Application forms for student visas in Italy must include a recent passport-size photo, a valid travel document and supporting documents depending on the type of visa the student is applying for. A letter of acceptance from the university is required. The insurance must be valid for all Schengen countries for minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.

The student visa is issued to Indians who intend to study in one of the academic institutions in South Africa. Studying in South Africa is easy for foreigners.   it will usually take three years of full-time study to complete a bachelor's degree, and one or two years to complete a master's degree. A letter of acceptance from the institution you have applied is required. The letter should be written on the company’s letterhead and state the course and duration of the study. An undertaking by the registrar of the chosen educational institution to grant proof of registration as contemplated in the relevant legislation within 60 days of registration. Students are required to provide proof of sufficient funds. A student is required to have at least   R2,714 per month to cover financial needs. If you are over the age of 18 years, you are required to submit a police clearance certificate not older than 6 months. For applicants under the age of 18 years, an unabridged original copy of your birth certificate is required. A certificate of yellow fever vaccination should be provided. International students are allowed to work part-time as long as it does not interfere with your study. Certificates and transcripts from previously attended school should be submitted during the application process.

The Danish student visa is available for Indians intending to study in one of the universities in Denmark. Danish universities are known for being leaders in terms of innovation, as they are keen on investing in world-class research facilities. It is necessary for you to confirm your admission status by showing an admission letter as proof that you have been offered admission to study in Denmark. The letter is issued by the authorities of the institutions you intend to study in. Students are required to have 1000 Euros per month to cover their finances. A proof of language proficiency (in English or Danish, depending on which language you are undertaking your studies in) is needed. If you are able to get a job, you can apply for a new permit. This would enable you to work up to 20 hours a week. It is also necessary for you to have proof of accommodation in Denmark or an arrangement should be made to get you an accommodation there. You will also need to show that all expenses and fees like tuition fees and other payments have been covered and pay for.  As a Indian with the intention of studying in Denmark, you will need to provide proof of your health status. This could be in the form of a medical report or certificate. A cover letter must be provided by the applicant.  This letter must explain your plans when you visit Denmark, include reasons for wanting to study in Denmark. You will also need to obtain a certificate from the police station to prove that you have not committed any offense nor have any criminal record.

The Swiss student visa is for Indian looking to study in Switzerland for three months or longer. There are two types of Swiss student visa: Type C study visa – for short courses (summer schools, language schools) that last only for three months. Type D study visa – for courses that last longer than three months. Before you can be granted a visa, you must provide the following documents during visa application: Letter of acceptance issued by a Swiss university or any learning institution. Proof of payment of the registration and tuition fees (original and copy). Letter from the institution in case all expenses for the study will be covered by scholarship or loan. Letter of motivation. If you apply for a Type D visa and plan to stay in Switzerland longer than three months, you will have to arrange to get your residence permit from the cantonal migration offices within 14 days after your arrival. Proof of sufficient financial means to cover your living costs in Switzerland for the duration of schooling is required. Students are required to provide evidence of having 21,000 CHF at the beginning of each year of study. International students can take up part-time work for up to 15 hours a week during the semester and they can work full-time during holidays. But you have to have lived in Switzerland for six months before you can take a job as a student. It is better to schedule the appointment for a visa interview as early as 6 months before your planned day of travel to Switzerland, but no later than ten weeks before. There are no specific language (including  Switzerland official languages Romansh) requirements for a study visa for Switzerland. On the other hand, universities will require proof of language proficiency when you apply. In some cases, the embassy will want to evaluate your language knowledge based on a short interview at the consulate, or even an oral and written test. Unless the application form and all required documents are in French, German or English, you will need a certified translation of all documents into one of these languages.

Indians looking to study in one of the institutions in Slovenia must apply for the Slovenian student visa. This visa is also known as a Type D visa. There are two types of Slovenia student visa: Short-stay visa- this visa is valid for just 90 days. Long-stay visa- this visa is valid for 12 months, and it is also extendable. Certificate of enrollment at the University. For example, acceptance letter is required. If you are studying in Slovenia for more than three months, you are required to purchase a residence permit. If you have a  valid residence permit  issued by  another state that is party to the Schengen Agreement , you may enter the Republic of Slovenia on the basis of this permit Proof of medical insurance which covers the entire duration of your stay with a minimum of 30,000 EUR coverage. But, you should first confirm that your school does not have arrangement for your insurance. If your institution does not have any arrangement for your accommodation, you should reserve a hotel accommodation. Students should have at least €300 monthly in order to maintain financial sustenance.  You might be able to work with the Slovenia student visa but you should verify from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Criminal record from India that confirms that you haven’t been convicted of a felony, translated into Slovene and certified is required.

The Greek student visa is issued to Indians looking to study in one of the learning institutions in Greece. There are two types of Greek student visa: Type C student visa- this visa is issued to students looking to study for 90 days or less. Type D student visa- this visa is available for students looking to study for more than 90 days. An official acceptance letter of the institution where you will be studying must be provided. A medical certificate showing that you are clear of diseases is required. Criminal record from the National criminal record of your country is required. Proof of financial means for the duration of your stay is required. This should come in form of a bank statement. Proof of international health insurance with the minimum coverage of 30,000 euros for the entire duration of your stay is required. For your insurance plan to meet the Schengen visa health insurance requirements, it must include the following: The insurance company must have a representative office in Europe. Medical evacuation/ repatriation coverage of at least euro 30,000. Insurance must be valid for the duration of stay in the Schengen countries. A student visa is not a residence permit, students will need to apply for a residence permit differently.

Indians can apply for the Austrian student visa if they wish to study in the country. The Austria student visa (Type D visa) is issued to non-immigrant visas for individuals who intend to study in an Austrian institute, college or university for a short period of 6 months. If studying for a period of more than six months, you will require a student residence permit alongside your student visa. Proof of sufficient funds in the form of bank statement, confirmation issued by a sponsor, a bank account that can be assessed when in Austria, travelers’ cheque or scholarship grants issued by a sponsor must be provided. The required amount deemed sufficient as the cost of living is €487.53 per month for students aged 24 and below, and €882.78 per month for students aged 24 and above. Police clearance certificate indicating that you have no prior convictions and are a model citizen must be provided. Proof of health insurance must be provided. This insurance must cover all the days of your stay in Austria, with medical costs of up to €30,000. If you are a non-EU/EEA student, federal/public universities in Austria only charge about 363.36-726.72 Euros per semester for tuition fees plus 19.20 Euros for student union membership fee “ÖH-Beitrag” and the student accident insurance fee. To study in Austria, the first thing that counts is the requirement of English. Some universities ask for English proficiency tests and may ask you to demonstrate proficiency in the language by getting certain bands. Basically you should have enough money to support your self when you are in schengen area.

The Iceland student visa enables Indians to visit Iceland to study in one of the institutions in the country. You must ensure you have been accepted into one of the institutions of your choice in the country before applying for visa. Students will need to apply for a residence permit before arriving in Iceland which can be done by contacting the Directorate of Immigration in Iceland or by notifying the nearest Icelandic embassy. All students are required to apply for a Kennitala – an Icelandic ID/social security number - which is used for every day matters, such as opening a bank account. Letter of acceptance from the institution in Iceland is required. This is proof that you can attend lectures and write exams at school.  If you are given a scholarship, you must provide the letter of sponsorship from the body that awarded the scholarship to you. Students are required to provide medical insurance details.  Proof of financial support in the form of bank statements must be provided.  Student visas in Iceland are flexible enough to allow students to apply for a work permit while they are engaged in their studies. Students are allowed to work 20 working hours per week.

Indians traveling to Czech Republic for study purposes can apply for a study visa. Documentation confirming sufficient financial resources for the duration of your study in Czech Republic is required. For this visa, all documents except the proof of financial sustenance must be submitted in Czech or translated by the Czech jury. Personal documents you provide are to be original or notarized photocopies. These documents must not be older than 180 days. You'll need to submit transcript from your previous institution of learning. A copy of the school license from the Ministry of Education is also needed. For minors, a letter of attorney from their parents as well as their valid means of identification is required. You must provide proof of accommodation which could be a letter from your school verifying place of accommodation, a rental agreement or an accommodation statement from an apartment owner. A medical report fully detailing the applicant's health status is important. You are to submit a valid criminal history report from India to show that you have a clean criminal record. Valid health insurance that has a minimum of €30,000 to cover the length of your study is required.  Foreign students visiting the Czech Republic for more than 30 days must register at the Foreign Police Department. Registration must be done within 3 days from the date of arrival into the country.
